Port City program waives royalty fees for franchisees

WILMINGTON, N.C. — Port City Java has launched a "No Royalty" promotion to stimulate franchise investment throughout the Carolinas. According to the promotion, anyone who enters a franchise agreement with Port City Java in 2009 will pay no royalties until 2011.

"Port City Java’s main concentration is franchise expansion in North and South Carolina, primarily targeting Raleigh through 2010," said chief executive officer Steve Schnitzler. "We have experienced tremendous market penetration in Wilmington, where 16 company and franchise locations are currently in operation. We hope to achieve the same success in Raleigh, a market we feel offers the best opportunity for development."

The promotion will help new franchisees minimize investment and cash flow needs during the economic downturn.
